The Role 

As an intern in the Global Trade & Commercial Insights program at Nedstar, you'll dive into the dynamics of the ethanol market, preparing for the role of a Commercial Manager/Trader. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you'll be involved in ethanol buying and selling strategies, develop market insights, and learn how to build lasting industry relationships. Located in the heart of Amsterdam, your internship offers hands-on experience, including visits to clients and suppliers. Your main activities include: 

  • Business development: Lead the search for new prospects and engage in worldwide commercial opportunities. Gain firsthand experience in expanding Nedstar's market reach. 
  • Account management: Manage data in our CRM (HubSpot), oversee sample distribution, and maintain relationships with small accounts, ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction. 
  • Language utilisation: Use your English, French, Spanish or German language skills to improve sourcing and market penetration, highlighting the global scope of our operations. 
  • Project participation & team support: Contribute to strategic commercial projects and support the commercial team, offering a comprehensive view of Nedstar's business operations. 

This internship is your opportunity to develop essential marketing, sales, and relationship management skills in a supportive and dynamic environment, contributing to Nedstar's growth in the ethanol market.
About the role and key responsibilities
Your job responsibilities will include:  
  • Hunting for new prospects both online and offline, opening doors to exciting business opportunities.
  • Cold calling, a critical skill for any commercial professional, helping to build your confidence and negotiation skills.
  • Administration support, ensuring all customer and prospect data, including cards from fairs, is meticulously entered into our CRM system (HubSpot).
  • Language skills application, particularly if you speak Spanish, offering a valuable contribution to sourcing bulk spirits and enhancing our market reach.
  • Account management on small accounts, providing a foundation for understanding and managing customer relationships.
  • Participation in new commercial projects, gaining insight into the trader’s responsibilities and the strategic direction of our business.
  • Sample administration management, a key aspect of our product promotion and customer satisfaction efforts.
  • Assistance to the commercial team in the EU with various queries, offering a broad exposure to the commercial operations.

  • Proficiency in English is a must; additional languages, especially French are a huge plus.

  • Current enrolment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program related to business, trade, or a similar field.
